Last month I had the opportunity to be in my first music video. And not just any video, I got to be in Plex‘s first video for his second album. If you don’t know … Plex (Doug Bedard) is an award-winning hip-hop artist and producer based out of Toronto. His debut album Brainstorm came out in April 2009, and his second album Demons was released this past June. Plex spends most of his time performing, teaching workshops and producing music, but he also runs New Leaf Entertainment, an independent record label in his “spare time.”
The song was ‘I Can’t Breathe’ and I’ll let the video speak for itself, but I was having to do some tough love with Plex. It was pretty fun being on set (Mel’s condo) and kicking it with Victoria Vaughan, Plex, Jennifer Podemski, and the crew all day. There was one section where I had to be in a fight w/ Plex and all upset but he kept joking around and making me laugh, making it *tres* difficult to be all emotive. Thanks Plex! Just kidding, it was a great time and a it was a blast to play a small role in Plex’s rising music career. His latest album was just #6 on the college radio hip hop charts. Sweet.
