We got plants! Pinkie, moi, CasieSeptembre

Last Thursday I got to spend the entire day with the @FordCanada team for a #FordEscape day with some fabulous fellow bloggers. The day started in the Distillery District with some foods at a gallery space while we anxiously awaited to hear what the day had in store.

I got to see Tamara, first time since our Dove hair commercial!

Then we got partnered off and drove in teams. Thank the lucky stars, I got to hang with Casie Stewart! She got the ball rolling and jumped in the driver’s seat as we made our way to the first location, Square One shopping mall.

She loved the drive immediately.

Huge moonroof to enjoy on this sunny day!

At Square One mall parking lot, we played some fun games and tried out the Park Assist feature which practically parks the car for you. It’s a really great feature which assists you in parallel parking by finding a spot, notifying you of when to stop, and turning the wheel to get just that perfect angle. This is a dream feature for those who live in cities and always have to parallel park (sometimes with a line up of cars behind you). Above is a video of Casie’s first time. I was literally screaming when the car was parking itself as it felt kind of strage to relinquish control of the vehicle, but it’s definitely something that I can get used to very easily for the benefits it gives.

There was a camera guy on site documenting every moment.

Our next location was a parking lot near the airport where the pylon driving course was set up. This was seriously the most fun I’ve had in a *very* long time. They took us out twice on the course with a professional driver to get us used to it and then we were behind the wheel by ourselves. There is very little that could go wrong since we are in an open area and there are only pylons to hit. It was fun to push the car to it’s limit and see how it handles curves, braking, and different situations. Our Ford Escape was definitely up to the challenge!

I made it to the top! My first time rock climbing outdoors. I want moar of that please!

All in all it was a great day and a very fun experience with Ford Canada to test out their Ford 2013 Ford Escapes and get a taste of what’s in store for Canadian drivers all over. As I was just behind the wheel of a huge SUV, I was quite amazed at what a great ride this crossover from Ford had to offer. Thanks Ford!
