March 2nd, 2010 marks the day that Kinnie Starr's fifth Album 'A Different Day' will be released. I am of course amazingly excited because she is one of my favorite singer-songwriters of all time. This Mohawk woman is political, pretty and a little bit of pop all rolled up in one delightful package.
When her last album was released I actually went to my local place for tech fodder and bought the CD. How cute was that? Well I am sure to be downloading it on my iTunes at the stroke after midnight tonight. For those of you who love your WAV files, you can get the album here
.
The press release states that it "is a focused collection of optimistic head-nodding songs exclusively about LOVE; 2009’s ticket for mass reconstruction. Platonic love, broken love, and love uncovered. Human relationships are at the center of her gaze." Sounds delicious.
Also see if you can score tickets to the concerts she has listed in Canada below. Toronto is sold out already so you have to really pull some sick maneuvers to get your name on that list (it really helps having a boyfriend in the music biz). She is really powerful and intriguing to watch live, and I have always found it was more experimental than her just performing songs of her album as is.
