Foxy mama! Pam Grier is one of those ladies who has such an earthy sex appeal and she just owns it. She is rumoured to be of African-American and Native American descent. If she is, it may be deeply buried in her family tree or (like I found out with Stacey Dash) no one has directly asked her about those roots. Not that it matters but I found these photos of her and thought they were pretty smoking hot.

Nice! I loved her in "The L Word."
ReplyDeleteSarah - Hey thanks for checking in! I haven't seen 'The L Word' but do love her in 'Foxy Brown' one day I will go back to her '70s flicks and check out what made her famous.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked Pam Grier!
ReplyDeleteI have a top like that that I found at a consignment shop! I have yet to wear it anywhere... maybe to a fashion show someday! :)
Anishinaabekwe - I love that you found a top like that. I was thinking that it would be great for a Native performer or just for a really cool photo shoot. Any sort of fashion-ey Native event I am sure it would be a big hit at ;). You making it to GON?
ReplyDeleteLisa - What is GON?
ReplyDeleteAnishinaabekwe - Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque NM.
ReplyDeleteOhhh...haha...duh! I have been wanting to go and it just has not worked out for me - time wise/money wise. Are you planning on going this year?
ReplyDeleteI remember first time I saw "Coffy" on tv, I was about 7 or 8. I asked my moms, "why is that NDN lady pretending to be black?", my moms laughed at me. I wouldn't be surprised if she's a really a whole lot more Native than anybody would care to guess. Her facial structure's NDN, her body is NDN... if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck... IT'S A DUCK! {=oD
ReplyDeleteAnishinaabekwe - Yes I am planning to go. I am really hoping it all works out :).
ReplyDeleteDJ TR-ONE - That is an awesome story! She does have native facial features. But these days we are all so mixed it's really hard to keep track!

ReplyDeleteI logged in with a different google account and wanted to make sure I logged in with my blogger account. Here is my comment...
ReplyDeleteI might ask a friend who loves New Mexico to go with me. I don't like flying so we would be driving... Who knows... maybe it is in the "cards" to go this year. :)
Anishinaabekwe - That would be awesome to meet there. I am just so excited about going!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen any of Pam Grier's old school movies. I guess I'll have to check one of them out at some point.
