Fabulous hostess Miss Erika
The girls are all glammed up
Group shot
Before we headed out to the Burroughes Building party for NYE we decided to head over to Miss Erika's condo in Liberty Village for some pre-party champers and nosh with the crew. We got a little tipsy thanks to her wonderful martini shots that tasted like a cherry Mr. Freeze. Yummers.

The masks didn't last long on (mine was too itchy)
I had hardcore lace tight envy
Oh look it's @issarged
Now those boys were festive!
One thing, the theme is a black and white ball in honour of Truman Capote's party in 1966 sans extras like ice sculptures, so more of a cocktail party version. So in my mind this means that you wear black or white with a mask and wear cocktail party appropriate wear with an eye for festivity and flair. Most people fit the bill, and it was great to see the guys in suit. Sigh, why not all of the time men, it really is handsome. Okay so most people were not wearing masks and there were some people who wore green, red, blue, salmon (yes salmon) and I wish that everyone got in on the dress code. Plus there were supposed to be masks handed out at the door, but they were in limited supply so it didn't quite work out that way (which is maybe better for landfill purposes).
Getting our groove on
The scene
The bar area
And the Jay Z song was ooooon
Party leftovers
Overall the night was pretty great. There was room to dance, the lineups were minimal at the bar and the service there was amazing. I tipped one of the bartenders $5 and he lit a small corner on fire and then stuck it to his face. Yes people even if it's an open bar you need to tip those people giving up their night so that you can have fun. I was on the other end of the bar last year for a private party, and appreciated every tip. The only drawback was the bathroom situation because there was only two for a whole lot of people and it was clogged and disgusting before midnight.
I look forward to more events at the Burroughes Building, it is a gorgeous space and they can really put on a good party and the place is beautiful. Next time I will make sure to visit the ladies room before I head over though. Oh Happy New Years everyone!
