Look who showed up - Justin and his friend Lisa
After a few straight weeks of working too hard, I decided I needed a night out dancing, and there is nothing better than a good old skewl house night to get my boogy on. Those United Soul peeps know how to throw a wicked party. They brought in Byron Stingily from Chicago and brought the party to Revival, one of my favorite venues in Toronto.
The night started of at Rachelle's, where we sipped this awesome Austrian sparkling wine Schlumberger that I am obsessed with and can be found in the Vintages section of LCBO for around $15. If you love champers, you will love this selection. It is a limited selection and won't be around much longer, so stock up!
The cool thing about having a friend that is a makeup artist like Rachelle is that they can totally make you look amazing before you head out together. I took a before and after shot (they were rushed and not amazing) for you to see her artistry.
We headed out to the event at Revival and we were there early to avoid a huge cover. The party started in the basement until it got rammed and then we flooded upstairs. The best was the bartender downstairs (you can see her blurry in those photos up there). She was flying around like a Whirling Dervish and serving everyone in record time, and with a smile. If only every bartender was like her. Oh yeah plus we did a shot of tequila with her (compliments of her), that was one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time, but later you realize it wasn't a great idea at all. It may have contributed to the reason that I kind of forgot to take more pics at the event.
Justin, my favorite Blackfoot, and his Native friend Lisa came. That was awesome to have to Native Lisas in the house last night. Meghan came later with her friend from the Peg to get their dance on as well. It was super fun to let some stress out and just dance it all out. I love good nights out with friends in a great venue, with stellar sounds. It just doesn't get better.
