The day started out pouty (shocker I know).
But I had my Manitobah Mukluks on so I knew I was going places.
Last Saturday (I know like forever ago but this week was hectic) I headed down to Yorkdale Mall to check out the action at Capezio. Yes there was action going on over there. I heard that Greg Dreaver from Manitobah Mukluks was going to be there alongside Plex and DJ Divinyl in traditional regalia so you know I had to go check it out.
I arrived to a buzz around the mall. The janitor and the information desk girl that I asked directions from were both well aware of the fun to be had. Janitor: "What's going on over there? There were some TV crews over there earlier (looks at my mukluks). Are you a part of it?" Information girl: "You can't miss it there is loud music coming from the store and a guy in an Indian outfit in there."
Mission complete. Found the store. DJ Divinyl and Plex are switching off on the decks while the glowing Jennifer Podemski picks up a brand new pair of black Nappa mukluks. Greg Dreaver is there and dressed in his amazing regalia attracting attention from all around him.
I found myself amidst this coolness.

K that was fun!
Great fun over at Capezio, and it was fun to be a part of the mukluk revolution (maybe taking it a tad to far) over at Yorkdale Mall. So great to see a traditional dancer out in the middle of shopping suburbia!
P.S. If you want to buy some in the U.S. here is a site.

Word-life, the muks are dumb fly! Loving them! wish they had stuff like that in the Denver area... They might, but since I've been here nobody has.
ReplyDeleteDJ TR-ONE - yeah they do need them in Denver then ... shoot they should be all over - so comfy and so cute and it's a Native company. What could be better?
ReplyDeleteGreat video! I was on the hunt for muks here in NYC and I can't find them! Not even at Intermix who supposedly carries them:( I'll have to check Fluevog when I go to Van in Dec I guess. And then I'll also get to pick up a Cowichan sweater! haha! Gonna be an expensive visit! Merry Christmas to meeeeee!!
ReplyDeleteLove em.! I dont think I need them in da PHX do. Is there a website? Thanks gorgeous fellow REDLADEE...
ReplyDeleteTanis - Check Capezio shoes in Vancouver, they should have them - don't forget to go to Capilano Mall (south side) first (tax-free).
ReplyDeleteAndrea - Well lots of celebs have them in LA, even though it doesn't get cold. Just a fashion statement - There website is here to check them - email them for a retailer near you :). Manitobah Mukluks
Those mukluks are so cute. I want some!
ReplyDeleteAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! Love it! Going to have to give some obvious hints the BF to get these for christmas. Hehehehehehe
ReplyDeleteKaren - totally adorable huh?
ReplyDeleteCharlotte - I hope you get some under the tree :).
The mukluks are awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI found a link for you to buy them in the US here
ReplyDeleteI've seen them on Endless before but was wary because I've never tried them on so I don't know if I'd be a size 8 or 9 or in between. That's why I never order shoes online unless I've tried them on before. BUT I just noticed today that they offer free shipping AND free return shipping! Free OVERNIGHT shipping for that matter! Sold!
ReplyDeletePS - for those economically concious divas, you can get them for cheaper on ebay!! ;~)
ReplyDeleteHi !! I know this is an old post but I was just searching around for mukluks and stumbled across your blog.
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering - are yours the mid or tall style? And how is the sizing? Should I size down? Thanks!! LOVE the white on you!
Thanks! This one is the tall style. And I would size down by at least one size (if not two). The mukluks should be snug as the leather (or suede) will stretch out a bit.
ReplyDeleteI know you'll love your new pair!
