Don't they look like they dressed to match each other? (they didn't ... I don't think)
So here's what I got up to on Halloween night since I had a few #costumefails. I decided to go for a double date to Cirque's Ovo performance in Toronto. It was my first time seeing Cirque, and just like most things in my life, I wanted to be sure I did it right. I found VIP tickets on Craigslist for over $100 less than the ticket price, so I was all over it.
Rachelle and I met up with the dynamic duo at the Tapis Rouge an hour before the event to drink all the free champagne peruse the gift store and have some lovely discussions. They had some appies there but they were a bit less appealing than I had anticipated (plus only a few were gluten free).

The show was amazing, it really excited me to see the acrobats and reminded me of my long last years as a gymnast. I am inspired to get myself back into some training and do a fun class to enjoy what it feels like to do cartwheels and walkovers and flips and stuff. I did feel like some parts were a little drawn out and their could have been more of a "wow" factor in some areas, but overall impressive work. I loved that one of the main characters and the love interest, a ladybug, was a rubenesque African American. It really showed me how socially progressive Cirque was. Kudos.
During intermission we went back to our Tapis Rouge tent for some desserts and more cocktails. Their was some delicious desserts, I loved the sundried tomato truffle. Really VIP is the way to go for a Cirque event, we also had priority free parking and it felt better to be in a more secluded area rather than crowded in the other tent. The show was a big hit, and Rachelle was a very happy birthday girl to be spoiled treated to a show.
This is going in a frame and on my mantel fo sho
