Continuing on the Luminato trend last weekend. On Sunday I went to Brookfield Place to go check out Métis artist Jason Baerg's exhibit. He was in the Luminato Box from 8 am to 10 pm (the long haul) to show his Primary Manifestos Exhibition. I checked out his show (after taking in coffee and chocolate mousse at the nearby Marche Restaurant) at around 2.
The exhibit showcased three of his large-scale paintings in the series, as well as a projection that revolved his 360 digital drawings. The exhibit revolves around the topic of globalism and grows from the concept of the First Nations medicine wheel (which has teachings of the four directions- north, south, east, and west).Baerg reflects on how globalism is being reflectd in our "multictural media injected atmospheres." This exhibit was borne out of the 360 digital abstractions, which are references to lakes, cities, plants and animals.
The exhibit was gorgeous and in a beautiful space. I was so happy to get the chance to go check it out, hang out with Jason Baerg and his lovely mother for a moment (before my parking ran out and I had to run).See Related Posts:
