J'adora Agokwe: Takes home 6 Dora Awards

Pop open the champagne, it is time to celebrate.

Ojibwe playwright and actor Waawaate Fobister has won 6 Dora Awards for his play Agokwe, which celebrates two-spirited people. The Dora Awards (Canada's version of the Tony Awards) took place tonight in Toronto and was hosted by Q Radio's Jian Gomeshi. Fobister also won outstanding performance by a male in a principal role tonight.

Well after tonight it is official. Fobister is one to watch closely as he will surely be rising to the top like those champagne bubbles in my flute.

  1. I think there would be more blood if you had two arrows in the heart, or is that just one arrow that broke on his iron ribcage?
