Now wouldn't that be a great future face (and body) for the Canadian modeling scene? Yes, Miss Linsay Willier is from Sucker Creek First Nation, about 400 km North of Edmonton Alberta.
She is 22 years old and a recent graduate from a child and youth care program at MacEwan College. She has appeared in the Edmonton Journal and has done runway shows for Edmonton Fashion Week. That is where she realized she could make it as a model. “Growing up on a small reserve things like that just seem so far away," she tells CNTM. "When I moved to Edmonton and did my first runway show I was like, ‘I’m a model.' I believe it.’”
In her interview video, which you can watch here, she says that she wants to gain exposure and that she wants to be a top model because "I have lived a very sheltered life on an Aboriginal reserve, and I have never even been on a plane before." Seriously how adorable is that?
At 5'9 she stands tall and proud of her roots as she talked on camera about her experiences growing up on a reservation. She said that she grew up on a rez and had to deal with girls who if they didn't like you, they beat you up so she had to learn to be tough.
Episode 5 airs tonight on at 8 PM EST on CTV. Show some support for your Cree homegirl and watch her strut her way toward stardom.
