While I was trekking may way through York University halls this week I came across the summer issue of York U Magazine which had Joseph Boyden on the cover. Boyden is a 2008 Giller prize winning novelist who writes a lot about First Nations people. He is of Scottish, Irish, and Métis heritage and graduated from York University in 1991 with a BA in Creative Writing after five years there (why is it always five at York and never four?).
I watched Boyden on The Hour (watch episode here) and was again interested in his career but never realized he was also a York Alumni. I can't wait until my academic reading load lightens and I can start to read Three Days Road.

Hi Lisa
ReplyDeleteI JUST finished Three Day Road and it is an absolutely beautiful, poignant book. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Take care.
