J’adora Agokwe: Takes home 6 Dora Awards

AGOKWE1-1Pop open the champagne, it is time to celebrate. Ojibwe playwright and actor Waawaate Fobister has won 6 Dora Awards for his play Agokwe, which celebrates two-spirited people. The Dora Awards (Canada’s version of the Tony Awards) took place tonight in Toronto and was hosted by Q Radio’s Jian Gomeshi. Fobister also won outstanding performance by a male in a principal role tonight. Well after tonight it is official.
