The Lone Ranger

So we have all heard that there is a re-make of The Lone Ranger coming out from Hollywood that will feature Johny Depp as Tonto (who is part Cherokee right?). Well anyways a tweet from Production Weekly stated that 69 year-old British director Mike Newell is set to direct the flick. His previous credits include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, High Fidelity, and Four Weddings and a Funeral. One thing for sure, this remake will be an interesting ride.

  1. Johnny Depp as Tonto? That seems a little odd but I'll watch it anyway. Who would you have liked to play the role?

  3. If he has already done High Fidelity and Four Weddings and a Funeral, then he's got my vote!

  4. Yeah I guess it's cool - I loved both of those flicks but I wonder if 69 is getting on up in years to take on directing a feature? *shrugs* Maybe he is one of those guys who stays energetic until his 90s . . .

  5. It'll be refreshing to see Depp in something that isn't done by Tim Burton.
