Ojibwe hip hop artist and radio host DJ Doug (Plex) Bedard of the Peguis First Nation, currently calls Toronto home. The Plex Show features hip hop and is on every Friday at 9 PM across Canada. His newest release Brainstorm is available today. He tells UNGS the ten things he can't live without.
1. My girl Jennifer Podemski
She offers encouragement in double doses. I feel ready for anything with her by my side.
2. My Studio
I've had various studios over the years. One thing about my home studio is that nothing changes. I always hated having to re-adjust things after another engineer had been there.
3. Blu-Ray
I've been spoiled. It's hard to watch anything without the clarity that Blu Ray offers.
4. Jason Delaronde
The professional boxer who helped me climb out of the gutter and get my life on track.
5. New Leaf Entertainment
The indie label that connects myself, Leemai Lafontaine, Rellik and others.

6. Mils
For the above mentioned quote.
7. Canadian Arts
I am honored to be a part of such a talented roster of artists. I feel the competitive nature of Canadian arts has helped develop my quality of sound.
8. My house is my favorite place
I like my privacy and it's easy for me to work from here.
9. Hoodies
For the above mentioned quote.

9. HoodiesI love my hoodies because...well, it's Canada. And I can hide in my hoodie.
10. Zaki Ibrahim's "Eclectica" (Episodes in Purple)
It's been the most consistent for me. I've been playing it on and off since I bought it almost a year ago.
Inspired by Toronto Life's 'City Survivor' pages, UNGS is selecting Indigenous individuals from all over who represent what it is to be a Native person living in today's modern world and how we decide to navigate it.
