"Crooked Arrows," a comedy about lacrosse with a Native American twist is supposed to be shot late this summer. The movie is about a 30-year-old of mixed lineage who must postpone his casino-building dreams to coach the inept local Native American high school lacrosse squad against the prep school league in which he used to star. It is set in an upstate New York reservation and will be directed by Steve Rash.
Rash has also directed "Can't Buy Me Love" and sequels to "American Pie," "Bring It On" and "Road Trip," so we can just imagine the tone of this film already.
“My son played lacrosse at Lawrenceville prep school and I have Native American ancestry, so the story spoke to me on both levels,” said Rash to Screen Daily. “It’s also a compelling and contemporary underdog sports movie in a unique setting.” Rash has stated that he is part Cherokee.
The movie is set to begin filming late this summer, but according to IMDb no casting decisions to be made. Any guesses on the lead?

Taylor Lautner...I'm kidding. I just hope they cast a hot dude with some serious acting skills. So who would that be?
ReplyDeleteAdam Beach . . . also kidding - I mean really I am blank, blank, blank - here's to hoping he's really of mixed blood ancestry though :).
