The buzz has been strong since the release of the Twilight DVD on March 21, the confirmation of wolf pack casting on March 23, and the interview with wolf pack casting director Rene Haynes today.
Rene Haynes picks were Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Bronson Pelletier, Kiowa Gordon and Tyson Houseman. Tinsel Kory as Emily is rumoured, but not yet officially confirmed.
"These kids are kids whose life is going to change," Haynes told Celebuzz in an exclusive interview. "They are now stars."
Haynes' office set up an extensive North American search to find the actors. They searched their database of up-and-coming Native American actors. There was a call-out for video auditions, which brought in 600 tapes ("I watched them all," she says).
I feel the buzz and I am excited not only for the amazing opportunity this has created for these actors, but for all Native actors who now have a chance at being brought to the Hollywood forefront and get a chance at their place in front of the camera.

I watched the movie in theater and while I wasn't a big fan, I did find the young actors pretty good.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely appeals to the high school demographic, I heard the books are amazing. I even saw it on a top 100 best books ever list - maybe that would be more enlightening . . .
ReplyDeleteThe wolf pack looks good. I can't wait to see them duke it out with the vampires. And yes, I have become casually obsessed with this movie. I guess it's the sci-fi writer in me.
ReplyDeletei know November right? i got interested when i auditioned (*sigh)
ReplyDeleteHad dinner with Cheske and Tinsel last week. Cheske's a good kid and Tinsel has always been dope!
ReplyDeleteI hope the Wolves do it up right, cause it was cool for me and my son to see Anishinabe folks in the first movie.
Incidently my boy has his first acting gig coming up at the end of the month. He's super excited!
