The New York Post says that "Nanette girls are hippies at heart." While I am hesitant to own the label as it conjures up images of patchouli and underarm hair, I must admit I love a good paisley print and some fringed suede.
Here are a few looks that I am lusting after from Nanette Lepore's Fall 2009 show during New York Fashion Week. The shorts with tights and ankle boots is a killer look and one that I want to start wearing now. Actually the weather is purrfect to start pulling off this look. All I need is some hot ankle boots and I will be feeling like a fashionista again.
Lepore first got her start with a Los Angeles boutique, but in Canada we can get her stuff at Holt Renfrew. In 2007 I scored one of her dresses (pictured below during Toronto Fashion Week Fall '07) at Holt Renfrew last call, it was originally almost $500 and I scored it for about two bills. I still love wearing it now, most recently to a Bollywood event. Guess I am a hippie at heart.
