Today was the day. Today is the first day of transitional season dressing.
When I woke up and crawled out of bed, it was so chilly in my place (and not from blasting a/c, thanks for the reminder David Suzuki) that I had to dig in my fall/winter collection. The collection which is really just all my f/w stuff stored in boxes in the corner of my place (pre-armoire as of yet). But I needed my warm winter housecoat to warm my chilly self this morning.
Once I had opened up that treasure trove, I couldn't stop. I brought out my honey Frye boots, my matching Jessica Simpson bag, my classic black Italian high heels, my chocolate brown headband with a zealous and excitement I can't remember since well last Spring when I brought out all of my summer gear.
This summer (if you can call it that) has been day after endless day of rain. Spoken from a BC girl, enough is enough! I thought, okay well July was rainy so surely August will be hot and muggy, bring it on. Maybe I will be able to actually wear my white linen skirt North of the border. Nope, more rain. So instead of mourning and complaining about all this sucky weather I am moving on.
Looking forward to a new pair of chocolate brown boots, some new Rock & Republic dark denim (oh how i love denim), some new supple leathers, and fall bags. I am in lust for fall wardrobe shopping, nothing sounds more delicious to me. The best time to shop for fall is right now. Mid-August, when all the new stuff comes in. The early season collections are always better quality, more classic and catering to the fashionistas.
I am falling in love with fall. Every year I swoon, and get dizzy because fall is my favorite time of the year. My birthday (September 2nd) marks the end of summer, the start of fall and it is my new year.
I might just pack away the white linen early this year.
